Wave Systems’ Q2 earnings up 41%

Wave Systems are never shy when it comes to making press releases; this time they celebrated record revenues in Q2 2008, of nearly two million dollars, thanks to growth in licensing of their software.

However, they still reported a net loss of over 5.5 million dollars, up 16.5% from Q2 2007.

Steven Sprague, the President and CEO of Wave, is optimisitic, as with an installed base of their TPM management software of 33.8 million devices he feels they are very well-placed to sell upgrades to many of their customers in the future.

As I know there are one or two Wave stock-watchers who have picked up previous mentions of them on this blog, when I saw a recent story about Intertrust and Nokia (I’ll report on that later) I wondered if Wave’s future will resemble Intertrust’s past?

I’ll leave you to ponder that, or alternatively just read the original press release on the MarketWatch site here.
