The GHOST in Intel’s Machine

In a post about selling kit to a a Federal agency the author mentioned a solution brief he got from Intel on the US Department of Defence creating a secure virtualised environment with the help of General Dynamics. The author was particularly impressed by the acronym for the General Dynamics High Assurance Open Scalable Technology solution, not the unpronouncable GDHAOST, but by conveniently ignoring a couple of words we get GHOST. Apparently, it:
[t]ak[es] advantage of Intel’s Trusted Execution Technology (TXT) and Virtualization Technology (VT)
to allow:
access to more information using fewer computers and less power in less space.
Apparently there is some relationship to the previously-reported news on the National Security Agency implementing secure virtualisation.
