Slow News Day musings on Trusted Computing

With August always being a slow month for news, Scott Rotondo decided to break the silence on the TCG official blog with a round-up of news and other developments in the Trusted Computing Group.

Some of the news included Samsung’s self-encrypting solid-state drive, Dell and Wave combining forces to protect data, Steve Hanna from Juniper will have a keynote at Interop Mumbai, Dr. Marco Sanvido of Hitachi address the Flash Memory Summit, Jing De Jong-Chen of Microsoft is a new vice president of TCG, and they’ll soon be annoucements about the first officially certified TPMs, thanks to work from Boris Balacheff of  Hewlett-Packard and others in the Certification Program Committee.

On a side note, through my work with the TCG everyone I’ve encountered (which included a few of the names above) has been very talented so I do get rather annoyed when I see the Treacherous Computing people spout off about how the TCG just don’t get it.
