Engadget recently republished a press release from Samsung on full disk encryption for solid state drives.
Samsung will soon be shipping self-encrypting Flash memory-based solid state drives, in sizes of 256GB, 128GB, and 64GB, but with no pricing information. They will come with Wave System’s EMBASSY management software suite to allow secure backup and restore, and other key management functions. All drives support the Trusted Computing Group’s Opal specification for low-level encryption.
