Open standards and TCG

Steve Hanna of Jupiter Networks has posted his impressions on his recent visit to Japan on his Got the NAC blog. There he talked on Trusted Network Connect and other general Trusted Computing Group (TCG) issues to representitives from Japanese government and corporations, researchers, manufacturers and even a few journalists about the TCG technology.
On reflection, he wondered about how something that was just a concept shared between a small group of people grew in just a few years to be a device shipped in over hundred million computers and required by many organisations. Surely, he supposes, it must be due to open standards, but not just open standards. The solutions must address specific problems, but be flexible enough to support extension through innovation.
It’s a strong argument, so read the full story on Steve Hanna’s Got the NAC blog.
