Objections raised to full-disk encryption

On the Encryption, Cryptography, Law, and Privacy Discussion Forum mirrored to the Cryptography, Law and Privacy Blog I saw an article on full-disk encryption and TCG standards.
It all seems a bit paranoid, quite frankly, implying that FDE is going to lull you into a false sense of security then lock out all your data. This is based on the fact that there is a considerable overlap between the members of the TCG and the members of the Digital Content Protection group, but I don’t see anything unusual in that, myself. Read the article yourself and make up your own mind.
