Nokia’s Maemo and Trusted Computing

Posted by Ken Y-N on February 22nd, 2010 at 05:14pm

I noticed an interesting post on LWN.net about Nokia’s new Maemo operating system, as presented at FOSDEM’10.

The description of the way that the system boots, such that it can distinguish between a trusted system that allows trust-related facilities to operate and an untrusted system that allows user kernels to run but doesn’t support security-sensitive operations such as DRM reminds me of Google’s Chromium OS boot.

There’s a lot of other good information in the article, so give it a read.
