To accompany the press release on Trusted Computing Group (TCG) developer resources, an entry on the official TCG blog entitled Developers Get Help with TPM Applications introduced this new features.
As a reminded of what the Trusted Platform Module (TPM) is, the following description was given:
Quick refresher — based on specifications created by TCG and implemented by a number of semiconductor suppliers, the TPM provides a hardware “vault” in the system to provide persistent protection of sensitive information. Combined with widely available applications, the TPM gives IT and network administrators inexpensive and effective tools to protect systems, data and networks against attacks, data loss, root kits and malware.
There’s a lot of information out there on what can be done with a TPM, and I’m glad that the TCG is collecting it together for easy access.
