McAfee on Trusted Computing – Part 1

Posted by Ken Y-N on May 13th, 2008 at 02:05pm

Now, this will be a fascinating series of posts. Gaith Taha of McAfee Avert Labs has started a beginner’s guide to the Trusted Computing Group’s (TCG) Trusted Platform Module (TPM), starting off from what it is (a small chipset on your motherboard) to a broad overview of key functionality.

She (or is it he, sorry if I’ve got the sex wrong!) acknowledges the negative press from many people, but explains how trustworthiness is a measure of the integrity of a platform.

The next part in the series promises to address specific concerns that people have and how the TCG has already answered these criticisms.

This series will definitely be a must-read for anyone involved in Trusted Computing, so be sure to catch it on the McAfee Avert Labs blog here.

Note that McAfee is a member of the TCG.
