Interop Mumbai discussions on security threats

I know that the Indian government is very interested in the issue of cyber security as it faces a lot of well-funded attacks from – well, I think we can all guess where from. So, I was not surprised to see an article from Interop Mumbai where various security threats were discussed, including sharing through USB memory sticks and wireless networks. On the positive side, talks covered ethical hacking and the Trusted Platform Module, with Steve Hannah from Juniper Networks delivering a keynote on why the TPM is essential. He said:

"Current operating systems, Linux or Windows, are based on decades old code-base and architecture. They are not ready to combat the perils of modern day threats. It’s hence important for us to reinvent the security architecture to combat such threats."

The Trusted Computing Group is inventing not just a security chip for motherboards, but there’s also disk drives, the network, mobile devices, virtualisation and the whole motherboard architecture under active design.
