How to use your TPM with BitLocker

Most of the stories I post here are related to corporate applications for trusted computing, so it makes a nice change for me to be able to pass on a tip on how to use the TPM that may be in your own computer to encrypt your drive with Microsoft’s BitLocker on Windows Vista.
This article from Helpdesk Geek is part one of a three part series, but part one only tells you how to prepare your drive for BitLocker. Given that the instructions tell you to repartition, reformat and reinstall, part two will probably be out before you finish!
Indeed, part two and part three are now published.
Although the article says you need Windows Vista, it doesn’t quality that by stating it is actually Vista Ultimate or Vista Enterprise that support it.
I take no responsibility if following the instructions destroys your hard drive!
