Apple’s iPad is the work of the devil!

With the announcement of Apple’s iPad, the outpouring of hate has been quite something to behold, with, unfortunately, trusted computing taking a lot of collateral damage from the flames. Here is a summary of some of the posts that I have come across:

genomicon: Against The White Cliffs of NeoPalladium: Apple are even worse than Microsoft and Palladium/TCG put together.

Zibri commenting on Betanews: it would have been great if it didn’t have trusted computing.

rc3.org: Is the iPad the harbinger of doom for personal computing? It’s Palladium all over again, only this time it works!

ivucica blog: Palladium strikes back: The first of a wave of locked-down computers that will kill developers.

Barry Saunders: iPad as usable, non-programmer-oriented computing: it’s for "people who are not technically oriented, who want a usable, simple, trusted computing option that is easy to use, easy to install software on, and one that doesn’t have to be concerned with viruses." Wait, he’s in favour of a locked-down environment – surely some mistake, or he must be a Microsoft shill!
