A press release reaches me telling me that AFCO Systems Development (ASD) has won three contracts from the Federal Government worth a total of $3 million to develop stronger cyber security systems.
The first contract from Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and the second from the Department of Homeland Security are for hardware-assisted security to protect against malware, with the second expanding to also include protection of national software and data assets.
The third is from the United States Air Force (USAF) to port the capabilities-based secure operating system Coyotos for “hardening” future embedded systems.
The developers involved in the work include:
Dr. Sean Smith, a trusted computing platform expert, Dr. Jonathan Shapiro, an operating system and processor design expert and Greg Hoglund, a world-renowned malware expert.
The original press release was published a href=”http://www.prweb.com/releases/2008/04/prweb878714.htm”>here on PRWeb.
